Alice Tam has been with the Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center since August 2004. Prior to working with the Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center, she taught at a Chinese immersion school in the City.

Alice was born and raised in San Francisco and lived in the Sunset District for the majority of her life. She completed her Master's in Asian American Studies from San Francisco State University with a concentration on Chinese American oral literature. She has over eight years of experience working with elementary school students. During her free time, Alice likes scaring people with her collection of ghost stories. She is known in the Chinese American community as "The Ghost Lady."

One of Alice's joys from working in the After School Program is watching students succeed academically and socially. She also loves listening to students complain about having to leave the program at the end of the day.

Alice is proud to be working with Sunset Elementary, a California Distinguished School. Sunset Elementary is also one of 35 schools in California that recently received a Blue Ribbon School nomination.
