Cheryl Woodie

Experience Corps Volunteer Coordinator Sunset District
Cheryl Woodie first began working with Experience Corps in 2003 by serving as an Experience Corps Volunteer at A. P. Giannini Middle School. Cheryl transitioned to the role of Sunset Volunteer Coordinator in 2005. With a 25 year background selling high tech capital medical equipment and as a boiler and machinery insurance marketing representative, Cheryl graduated from Mills College with a B.A. in Psychology in 1998 and began a Master's in Social Work at Cal State University, East Bay in the fall of 2006. Cheryl has volunteered at Strybing Arboretum and Botanical Garden in San Francisco, the Indian Women's Healing Center in Oakland, Options for Women Over 40, and the Family Caregiver Alliance in San Francisco. Through a summer practicum, Cheryl served as a Research Assistant for the National Center for Post Traumatic Stress at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System in Menlo Park. Cheryl is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana.
