Ulloa Elementary School
The Ulloa After School Program has been in existence for 7 years. The program will serve over 160 kids this year.
The diverse staff at Ulloa After School Learning Program come from a variety of teaching backgrounds in order to bring the students an array of classes and activities. Our daily three-hour schedule includes snack, recreational play, one hour of homework help, and one hour of structured academic or enrichment activities. In addition to our regularly scheduled activities, students may enroll in specialized classes such as Chinese lion dancing, newspaper, DJ club, martial arts, media arts, girls' sports team, or hip hop dance. Certificated teachers also lead classes in literacy and math. We hold regular Friday "clubs" where students sign up for the club of their choice. These project-based learning clubs range from knitting, recycled fashion, and sign language to soccer, gardening and cooking. The Ulloa After School Learning Program strives to provide students with creative youth centered learning opportunities.
