Afterschool Programs
Approximately 700 youth attend daily afterschool programs at one middle school and four elementary schools in the Sunset District. Youth receive academic support and engage in a variety of enrichment and recreational activities through project-based learning clubs.
Rec Connect - One of five citywide sites participating in this pilot
program that partners community based organizations with the San
Francisco Recreation & Park Department to expand and enhance the
community programming offered at local recreation centers.-
Safety Network Program - A full-time Community Organizer engages Sunset
community members in activities that create a safer, strong and
healthier neighborhood. The community is connected through events,
education campaigns and projects that address specific community safety
issues. - Sunset Community Convener - A full-time Community Convener works with service providers to coordinate services and events for Sunset District families.
Experience Corps Bay Area
This innovative intergenerational volunteer program connects older adults (ages 55+) to children as mentors and tutors in elementary, middle schools and afterschoool programs in San Francisco, Oakland and Marin.
Family Services
Case management services are provided for at-risk middle school-aged youth and their families.
- Computer Classes - Beginner and Intermediate computer classes for youth and
adults are offered at two community computer labs. Additionally, SNBC
offers the community open computer lab access four days per week. -
Community Digital Media - Youth and young adults learn to express
themselves through a variety of digital media techniques such as digital video workshops.
